Obituary
Mr. James Capper, a native of Gosford, died at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Wellard, Dora Creek, on Monday morning, after a short illness. His passing removes another pioneer of early settlement, who had a fund [of] information regarding the opening up and development of various localities. He was born at Erina, where his childhood was spent, and at the age of 26 he married Miss Mary Ann Andrews, of Mt. Vincent; this lady predeceased him, 27 years ago. About 1874 he left Gosford district for Cooranbong, in which district he resided for 50 years till his death at Dora Creek, at the age of 85. He leaves two sons, Mr. James Capper, of Gosford, and Mr. David Capper, of Mt. Vincent, and daughter, Mrs. D. Wellard, of Dora Creek. Another son, Thomas, died at Dora Creek, at the age of 52, seven years ago. The funeral, which took place at the Church of England Cemetery, Cooranbong, on Tuesday, was [...] attended. The Rev. F. A. Wood conducted the burial service.
