James Esdras Faust was born 31 July 1920 in Delta, Millard County, Utah to George Augustus Faust (1890-1955) and Amy Finlinson (1897-1974) and died 10 August 2007 Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah of unspecified causes. He married Ruth Wright (1921-2008) 21 April 1943 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah.
Elder Faust was an American religious leader, lawyer, and politician. Faust was Second Counselor in the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) from 1995 until his death, an LDS Church apostle for 29 years, and a general authority of the church for 35 years.
