Jane married on the 28th December 1742 at Higham by Nayland in Suffolk to John Strand. John was the son of John and Mary Strand, who also came from the Stoke-by-Nayland area. John was 15 years old at the time and Jane was 22.

The couple settled in Stoke-by-Nayland and had six known children there. A seventh child, William, baptised in 1765, was born some 14 years after the other children. Whether this was their child, a grandchild being raised as their own, or the child of another John and Jane Strand is yet to be determined.

Death of sons

Eldest son Samuel died in infancy and another son was named after him when born in 1747.

Son John was buried in Stoke-by-Nayland on 20th July 1767. He was approximately 16 years old at the time. His burial entry indicated that he was the son of John Strand.

Death of husband

Exactly where and when John was buried is yet to be determined. A burial record has not been located. The year of 1780 is an approximation only.

Death

Jane was buried on 23rd December 1791 in Stoke-by-Nayland. She was recorded as a widow, and was aged approximately 71 at the time of her death.
