Biography

Jesse Wentworth Crosby was born 25 November 1820 in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada to Joshua Crosby (1783-1877) and Hannah Corning Cann (1784-1839) and died 11 June 1893 Panguitch, Garfield County, Utah, United States of unspecified causes. He married Hannah Elida Baldwin (1820-1907) 23 November 1845 in Nauvoo, Hancock County, Illinois, United States. He married Ann Shelton (1820-1860) 10 October 1854 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah. He married Minna Lisetta Bauer (1844-1906) 1882 .

St. George Pioneers of 1861-62

This person is listed on the Encampment Mall Memorial - a list of over 300 LDS Pioneer Families that helped to settle St. George, Utah in 1861. They were part of the "Dixie Cotton Mission" called by President Brigham Young to raise cotton and other southern crops in the warmer climate of Washington County, Utah.
