Johann Christoph Sippel was born 21 November 1812 in Unterkoskau, Thuringia, Germany to Johann Christoph Sippel (bef1812) and Johanna Christiana Kraus (bef1812) and died 2 December 1886 Nundle Creek, New South Wales, Australia of unspecified causes. He married Johanne Christine Zanche Zenker (1815-1896) 2 September 1835 in Germany.
He arrived in New South Wales on 19 December 1854 on the Singapore with his wife and family.
