John Adam Garlock was born 1733 in New York, United States to Johann Christian Gerlach (1672-1764) and died 5 May 1822 Manheim, Herkimer County, New York, United States of unspecified causes. He married Maria Lena Schill (1745-1834) 28 May 1765 in Manheim, Herkimer County, New York, United States.
John was a soldier in the American Revolution and had land bounty rights. His brothers, William and George, were in the revolution also. William and John served in the same company, which was Captain Copeman's First regiment. John was also a captain in House's company, Colonel Klock's regiment. According to the census of 1790, Adam had three males over sixteen, one under sixteen and five females in his family, in Montgomery County.
John died on May 5, 1822 in Menheim. He was buried on May 8, 1822 at the Reformed Church of Snell's Bush in Menheim, New York.
