John Ashcroft was born circa 1780 and died 18 January 1855 Upper Minto, New South Wales, Australia of unspecified causes. He married Elizabeth Ann Tebbutt (1790-1847) 20 April 1818 in St Lukes, Liverpool, New South Wales, Australia.
He arrived in New South Wales on 29 July 1814 on the Surrey as a convict.
