New York, August 23, 1899. — The bodies of Josephine Engel, sixteen years old and handsome, and John Lindauer, a cigar. maker, were found this morning at Moshula Park. The man had killed both the girl and himself with a pistol. Lindauer had left his wife and eloped with the girl two weeks ago. Remorse led to the decision to die together, as a note to Lindauer's wife showed."
