When I was born I was the third child. We lived in Ramsgate NSW. I subsequently had three further brothers born in 1942, 1945 and lastly 1948. I commenced schooling at St.Patrick's Kogarah. In 1947, our family was evicted and we moved to Wiley Park. The Company my father worked for Howie Moffat sent my Father and mother and six children to Canberra ACT in the beginning of 1949. My father was to be the Site supervisor, Paymaster for the of the first part of Univesity House of the Australian National University (ANU).
Employment and marriage
In 1954 I was a Foundation student at St Edmunds Memorial College Canberra in 3rd year. At the beginning of 1955 and after receiving results of the NSW Intermediate Cert. I applied to the Dept. of Immigration on 8 Feb 1955 for employment as a Junior Asssitant 4th Division and was accepted. I remained in the Central Office until the end of 1955. In the beginning of 1956 my parents and their five sons returned to Sth. Hurstville to live. I went to the Sydney Immigation office. I remained there until 1967.
On 22 June 1963 my wife and I were married at Blakehurst NSW. I gained promotion to the 3rd Division of the Australian Public Service in 1966. In 1967 we built our home in Leonay NSW.
