Joseph Eastland Mangum was born 1822 in Pickens County, Alabama to John Mangum (1763-1843) and Rebecca Canida (1785-1847) and died 1848 Iowa of unspecified causes.

Biography

Joseph and his young family were living in Mississippi in 1844-45 when they joined the Itawamba 1845 LDS Branch of the LDS Church there with most of their extended family. They followed them to Iowa/Nebraska. There Joseph and his oldest child both died before the birth of his second child, Elmina.
