Biography Joseph and his young family were living in Mississippi in 1844-45 when they joined the Itawamba 1845 LDS Branch of the LDS Church there with most of their extended family. They followed them to Iowa/Nebraska. There Joseph and his oldest child both died before the birth of his second child, Elmina.
