He married Mary Ann Blackman (1803-1886) 11 June 1821 in St Lukes, Liverpool, New South Wales, Australia.
He arrived in Sydney, New South Wales on 15 April 1800 on the Speedy as an orphan, after his convict mother died on the voyage.
