Joseph Nash was born 30 January 1796 in Staplehurst, Kent, England, United Kingdom to John Nash (1762-1823) and Elizabeth Ottaway (1765-1856) and died 29 December 1868 Camden, New South Wales, Australia of cancer of the stomach, gangrene of lower extremities. He married Elizabeth Rootes (1794-1847) 16 August 1820 in Northiam, Sussex, England, United Kingdom. He married Rebecca King (1813-1892) 1854 in Newtown, New South Wales, Australia.
He arrived in New South Wales on 26 May 1839 on the Roxborough Castle, as a free settler.
