In 1638 Joseph's parents immigrated from somewhere in England (source is highly disputed) to Massachusetts Bay Colony. Joseph Rice was born that same year, but where? Massachusetts or England?

His fourth wife was Sarah, by whom he had two youngest children at Watertown and one, the youngest, at Marlborough, after his return. It is not improbablye that this last wife was Sarah Wheeler, as Isaac Wheeler, about 1682, chose his father-in-law, Joseph Rice, for his guardian. Seven of the children below are on Marlborough birth records.
