Karl Alexander von Brandenburg-Ansbach, Markgraf von Brandenburg-Ansbach, Markgraf von Brandenburg-Bayreuth, was born 24 February 1736 in Ansbach, Bavaria, Germany to Karl Wilhelm Friedrich von Brandenburg-Ansbach (1712-1757) and Friederike Luise von Preußen (1714-1784) and died 5 January 1806 Benham Castle Speen, Berkshire, England, United Kingdom of a short illness caused by lung disease. He married Friederike Caroline von Sachsen-Coburg-Saalfeld (1735-1791) 22 November 1754 in Coburg, Bavaria, Germany. He married Elizabeth Berkeley (1750-1828) October 1791 in Lisbon, Portugal. He was the last Margrave of the two Franconian principalities Brandenburg-Ansbach and Brandenburg-Bayreuth, which he sold to the King of Prussia, a fellow member of the House of Hohenzollern.
