Karl Friedrich von Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorf, Herzog von Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorp, was born 30 April 1700 in Stockholm, Sweden to Friedrich IV. von Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorf (1671-1702) and Hedvig Sofia A. of Sweden (1681-1708) and died 18 June 1739 Auetal, Lower Saxony, Germany of unspecified causes. He married Anna Petrovna Romanova (1708-1728) 21 June 1725 in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
