Kashira Rayon (Russian: Каши́рский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[3] rayon (district), one of the thirty-six in Moscow Oblast, Russia. It is located in the south of the oblast. The area of the district is 646.09 square kilometers (249.46 sq mi).[3] Its administrative center is the town of Kashira.[1] Population: 70,269 (2010 Census);[4] 70,774 (2002 Census);[7] 35,300 (1989 Census).[8] The population of Kashira accounts for 59.6% of the district's total population.[4]
