Leon Sculy-Logotheti was born 1853 in Iaşi, Iaşi County, Romania and died 1912 Iaşi, Iaşi County, Romania of unspecified causes. He married Smaranda Cincu .
Leon Sculy-Logotheti attended high-school in Paris, France. He then studied medicine at the University of Montpellier and the University of Paris, graduating in 1879.
Returning to Romania he was appointed professor of anatomy and histology in the newly created Faculty of Medicine of Iaşi. He later specialized in surgery became professor of surgery dean of the faculty.
As surgeon he worked at the clinic of professor Ludovic Rus Sr. (1816-1888) where he specialized in abdominal and thoraco-pulmonary surgery.
