Leonida Iarca was born 25 April 1845 in Râmnicu Sărat, Buzău County, Romania to Iordache Iarca (1796-1872) and NN Periețeanu and died 1926 Bucharest, Romania of unspecified causes.
Leonida Iarca was born on April 25, 1845. He graduated from military school in 1860, being appointed under-lieutenant in 1862 and reaching the rank of major in 1871.
In this capacity he partipated in the Romanian War of Independence taking part in the attack of the Griviţa redoubt as officer of the 5th infantry regiment. He was promoted colonel in 1883 and brigade general on May 10, 1893.
He was awarded the Military Virtue Medal 1st class and the Order of the Star of Romania.
