Leslie Eric Marks was born 1897 in Goulburn, New South Wales, Australia to Charles Henry Alfred Marks (1868-1941) and Caroline Emmerton (1877-1963) and died 21 September 1936 Cowra District Hospital, Cowra, New South Wales, Australia of pneumonia. He married Ivy Rose Giles (c1904-) 1923 in Cowra, New South Wales, Australia.
Obituary
A very sad death took place in
the Cowra District Hospital to-day
on the anniversary of the second
birthday of his youngest son, of
Mr. Eric Leslie Marks, at the age of
38 years, the cause of death being
pneumonia, from which he had been
suffering for about a fortnight.
A native of the Goulburn district
he was a son of Mr. and Mrs. C.
Marks, of Wattamondara. He was
married to Miss Ivy Giles, eldest
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. Giles,
of Cowra, who with a family of one
son and two daughters are left to
mourn their great loss. The children are: Eric (12), May (9) and
Gladys (2).
Brothers of the deceased are
Messrs. Victor and Allan Marks
(both of Wattamondara).
The deceased, who was a most
exemplary young man, had been in
the district for about twenty years,
carrying on as a teamster until
quite recently, when he entered the
employ of Mr. H. Aitken, of Wattamondara. The funeral will take place to
the Church of England to-morrow
(Tuesday) afternoon at 3 o'clock
from St. John's Church.
