- Bette Parker Patten wrote on February 20, 2006 for Findagrave: "Loretta was a wife, mother and homemaker and devoted her life to her family. She was married to Stephen H.B. Parker and they had nine children. She loved holidays and decorated for all of them, whether hearts for Valentines, shamrocks for St. Patrick or the fresh Christmas Tree every year in the living room. Her famous Christmas Anise Cookies are still made today by her daughters. She died too young and is greatly missed by all her children."
