Ancestry

Through his father, Louis is a member of the British Royal family. Through his great grandfather Prince Philip, Louis has ties to the Greek and Danish royal family.

Through his paternal grandmother Diana, Princess of Wales, Louis is an extended member of the Spencer family, an aristocratic family founded in the 15th century. Through Diana, Louis is a direct descendent of the eight of the first nine Earl Spencers.

Before the Royal house became Windsor, the name was Saxe-Coburg and Gotha which is a German name, reflecting the royal family’s German ancestry.

Through his mother, it is possible that he descends from Mary Boleyn, the sister of Anne Boleyn and presumed mistress of Henry VIII of England. More recently through his mother, his ancestry is mostly working or middle class. His maternal grandfather, Michael Middleton’s side of the family shows some clergy and professionals but were dominated by tradesmen in their wives.

His make up is English, Scottish, and French through his mother, and English, Danish, German and Greek through his father.
