Louise Holmes Anthony was born 4 September 1854 in Manhattan, New York, United States to Charles Lee Anthony (1820-1874) and Catherine Holmes (1824-1882) and died 21 August 1926 Hotel Ritz, Paris, Île-de-France, France of a short illness caused by complications setting in from a slight throat infection. She married Alfred Torrance (1852-1887) 1878 . She married Frederick William Vanderbilt (1856-1938) 17 December 1878 .
