Biography[]

Lucy Smith Millikin was the youngest child of Joseph Smith (1771-1840) and Lucy Mack (1775-1856), the only child born at Palmyra, New York. Her husband, Arthur Millikin, was a native of Maine, born 9 May 1817. He joined the Church in 1836 and participated in the Battle of Crooked River, in which he was severely wounded. The two were married by Joseph Smith (1805-1844) on 4 June 1840, in Nauvoo, Illinois.
