Luther William Mitchell was born on 3 Nov 1829 in Forres Scotland. His mother was Jane Dunbar and his father was William Mitchell (they never married. - Luther arrived in Sydney NSW from Forres - County Moray in 1856. He married Elizabeth Mary (b 13 Apr 1847) (known as Eliza in many other references) a daughter of William Fogg. He died on 24 Jul 1877 as a result of burns. He is buried on the banks of the Fish/Lachlan River at Reids Flat NSW.
Note also that his son, born on 18 Jul 1869 was also Luther William on birth certificate but is known as William on his marriage certificate (28 Mar 1893) and death certificates (3 Dec 1958).
