Marie Luise von Hessen-Kassel was born 7 February 1688 in Kassel to Karl von Hessen-Kassel (1654-1730) and Amalia von Kurland (1653-1711) and died 9 April 1765 Leeuwarden of unspecified causes. She married Johan Willem Friso van Nassau-Dietz (1687-1711) 1709 .
Maria Louise was regent (for her son) of Friesland and Groningen, and regent (for her grandson) of the Netherlands. She is the most recent common ancestor of today's European monarchs.
