Mariya Mstislavna of Smolensk was born 1180 to Mstislav III Romanovich of Kiev (c1160-1223) and died 24 January 1221 of unspecified causes. She married Konstantin Vsevolodovich of Rostov (1186-1218) 15 October 1196 JL .

In 1196 she married in Vladimir the ten-year old Konstantin Vsevolodovich, the eldest son of the Grand Princes of Vladimir-Suzdal Vladimir Yuryevich. During their marriage they had three sons:
- Vasilko Konstantinovich of Rostov (1209-1238) - the appanage prince of Rostov (from 1218).
- Vsevolod Konstantinovich of Yaroslavl (1210-1238) - the first prince of Yaroslavl (from 1218)._
- Vladimir Konstantinovich of Uglich (1214-1249) - the first prince of Uglich (from 1218).
In 1218 Konstantin Vsevolodovich died, after which she took a veil in a nun, taking the name Agafia. She died on January 24, 1220, and was buried in the Dormition Cathedral of Rostov.
