Martha was a daughter of Tinsley Powell and his second wife, Nancy Galloway. I don't know very much about her. In her one known picture in the mid to late 1890s, she looks very careworn, but for the wife of a small farmer and mother of twelve children, that would hardly seem surprising.
She moved with her husband to Marion Co., AL, and died there in 1899 of tuberculosis. He then moved back to Hart Co., GA, with their children and married her sister. At least some of her children moved back to Marion Co., AL.
