Martha Truman was born 2 May 1850 in Cottonwood, Salt Lake County, Utah, United States to Jacob Mica Truman (1825-1881) and Elizabeth Boyes (1831-1919) and died 26 February 1892 Fillmore, Millard County, Utah, United States of unspecified causes. She married Nathaniel Ashby (1835-1882) 1 August 1870 . She married John Powell (1822-1902) 20 March 1885 .
St. George Pioneers of 1861-62
This person was is listed on the Encampment Mall Memorial - a list of over 300 LDS Pioneer Families that helped to settle St. George, Utah in 1861. They were part of the "Dixie Cotton Mission" called by President Brigham Young to raise cotton and other southern crops in the warmer climate of Washington County, Utah.
