Obituary

Mrs. Faulks (nee Martha Boxsell), was the eldest daughter of' the late Mr. Thomas Boxsell, of Gerringong. She inherited the leading characteristics of her parents in a quiet unobtrusive, but whole-hearted home life, A model "helpmate" and a love-inspiring parent, she inculcated in her children that simple earnest piety, now alas too uncommon; and the critics who declare, that the masses are abandoning the Church and Christianity, would feel a repulse to their conclusions could they see the inner family circle of that little home in the heart of the glen at Jasper's Brush; or witness her young sons, just entered the threshold of life, with tearful eloquence round the open grave testifying to the influence of a mother's love and the power of her piety in regenerating their lives and turning them "to the way of life," Our sympathy goes to Mr. Faulks, as does the good will of everyone who knows him. Death was not unexpected. But the reminiscences ot such a life weighs down the heart at such a time. The funeral took place on Friday afternoon, when the family circle was complete, sons arriving from Cootamundra, Condobolin, etc., and brothers of Mr. Faulks from Nowra, Mr. Robt. Faulks, Mr. Wm. Faulks, Milton, Mr. George Faulks, Meroo, and Mr. James Boxsell, The service was conducted by an officer from Headquarters." Deceased was 62 years of age and was born in the Hunter River district.
