Mary Ann's then youngest children, Richard and Sophia, were baptised together 3 days before her husband Francis sailed for Australia aboard the "Planter" on 13 June 1832. Mary Ann and the children sailed aboard the "Palambam" 2 months later on 24 August 1832. The family had been unable to sail together.
Mary Ann arrived as in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, on 10 January 1833 with her 4 children Elizabeth Jane (known as Betsy) 10, Mary Ann (known as Mary) 7, Richard 3, and Sophia 18m (names & ages recorded on passenger list). She arrived about 2 months after her husband Francis, who had arrived near the end of 1832.
