Mary Ann Carter was born 1863 in Broke, New South Wales, Australia to George James Carter (1839-1918) and Catherine Wapoles (1840-1908) and died 27 October 1902 Bathurst-street, Singleton, New South Wales, Australia of Brights' disease, pericarditis.
Obituary
Miss Carter, of Broke, near Singleton, who has been ailing for some time, died at 5.30 o'clock yesterday morning, in Bathurst-street, Singleton. The deceased lady, who was 40 years of age, and has been residing in Sydney for some months, came up in the train last Wednesday, en route to Broke, but taking ill in the train was unable to proceed further than Singleton. The deceased had been seriously ill for about a week suffering from Brights' disease, accompanied by pericarditis, and was attended by Dr. Bowman. Deceased was a daughter of Mr Cartor, of Broke, and the body was interred at the Broke cemetery yesterday afternoon, in the presence of sorrowing relatives and friends. The deceased lady leaves five brothers, three of whom live at Broke, one at Young, and one at Gosford, and she has four sisters living at Broke.
