Biography
Mary Ann Syer White was born 2 January 1793 in Nacton, Suffolk, England, United Kingdom to William Syer (1777-1840) and Mary Ann (1771-1799) and died 22 August 1882 Ogden, Weber County, Utah, United States of unspecified causes. She married William White (1779-1842) 17 April 1837 in Trinity Church, Marylebone, Middlesex, England.
1856 Hunt Wagon Company
Mary Ann Syer White and several of her children were converts to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and joined many others in migrating to Utah in 1856. Their family were part of the 1856 Hunt Wagon Company that followed behind the ill-fated Martin Handcart Company. They witnessed much of the suffering of that group.
