Biography
Mary Coddington (1654-1693) was the daughter of first Rhode Island Colonial Governor, William Coddington (1601-1678) and then she married another RI Governor, Peleg Sanford (1639-1701) a member of the famous family of Anne Marbury (1591-1643) Hutchinson.
Marriage and Family
Peleg Sanford had seven children by his second wife Mary Coddington (1654-1693) who was a daughter of William Coddington, many times governor of the colony. His granddaughter, Margaret Sanford, married Massachusetts Governor Thomas Hutchinson, a great great grandson of William and Anne Hutchinson. Sanford was succeeded as governor by his brother-in-law, William Coddington, Jr..
