Mary Davey was born in approximately 1720 in Cornwall, England. An offiical baptism record for her has not been located, so the names of her parents and siblings are currently unknown. It is possible that her father was John Davey of Camborne, but further investigation is required to determine this.

Marriage[]

Mary married Matthew Rodda at Crowan in Cornwall on the 1st April 1738. His paents were John and Kathriana Rodda of Crowan.

The couple had their first child baptised in Gwinear, and their remaining children were baptised in Crowan.

Death of Father[]

Matthew's father John left a will when he died on 21st March 1760. It appears that Matthew was alive at the time of his death as he is named in the will, along with some of his siblings. Whether Mary was alive at this time is unknown.

Death[]

It is unknown at this stage when Mary died and where she was buried. Their are 6 potenital burials of a Mary Rodda in Crowan between the years 1755 and 1776 that could be her, so the year of 1760 is chosen as an approximation only. Further investigation is required.
