Biography
Mary Ellen Kent was born 5 May 1849 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia to John Kent (c1809-1862) and Marjory Ballow (1811-1890) and died 26 March 1945 "Cooyar", Woolwich, New South Wales, Australia of unspecified causes. She married Seymour Reynolds-Moreton (1841-1905) 23 January 1869 in Kangaroo Point, Queensland, Australia.

Obituary
The death took place in Sydney yesterday afternoon of the Hon Mrs Seymour Moreton, widow of the Hon Seymour Moreton. On May 5 she would have reached the advanced age of 96.
The late Mrs Moreton, who was formerly Miss Mary Ellen Kent, a daughter of the late Mr John Kent, Commissioner of Crown Lands, married, like her elder sister Emily, a son of the second Earl of Ducie, and lived for many years in the Gayndah district and in Brisbane. Some time ago she left to make her home in Sydney and was residing with her younger daughter, Mrs E. M. Brissenden, at Woolwich, when her death took place.
The late Mrs Moreton, despite her advanced age, retained ail her faculties. She took a keen interest in present day affairs and, until her brief last illness, was noted among her friends for her exquisite skill as a needleworker. The late Mrs Moreton, who was a niece of the late Dr Ballow. after whom Ballow Chambers are called, is survived in addition to her younger daughter, by her elder daughter. Miss E. E. Moreton, Rose Bay, Sydney, and two sons, Messrs A. E. K. and D. S. H. Moreton, Sydney. There are also three grandchildren and three great grandchilden.
