John Barney is the son of the Rev. Jacob Barney, after marrying Mary Throop, they resided at Bristol, Swansea and Taunton MA.

It looks like Mary, after her 1st marriage, moved with relatives to Bristol RI where her children were born there. Watch for date of 1680 when William Throop and all his clan relocated as original settlers of Bristol RI.
