Matthew Stewart, 4th Earl of Lennox was born 21 September 1516 to John Stewart, 3rd Earl of Lennox (c1495-1526) and Elizabeth Stewart (c1494-) and died 4 September 1571 of unspecified causes. He married Margaret Douglas (1515-1578) 29 June 1544 JL .
