Michael Joseph Borland (1947) aka Zack. He is a musician, playing lead guitar in the Rock Scarz and Double Zero Band.

He served in the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged.
Chico, California[]
Around 1973-1974, Michael and his brother moved to Chico, California and lived in an intentional community. He was in a band called Supa Nova with his brother.
Child[]
He met Diane LaPlante on the Isla Mujeres in Mexico in 1986 and they had a child.
New Orleans, Louisiana[]
He moved from California to New Orleans, Louisiana. He played in a band called the "Rock Scarz and Double Zero Band" under the name Zack. The band biography states: "Zack and Pablo have been together for decades, played on the streets of New Orleans before they came back to Chico where they added Paul, Mary, Dave and Richard."

- Kathy Szczesny Borland writes in 2013: "Michael was in the army and served in active battle in Vietnam during the Vietnam war. He was honorably discharged. He almost died from the inoculations they gave him for deployment. John is not his dad, Eddie Ganley is. (I helped him with that before Helen died. He asked me to help him find out who his real dad was.) He was born in Ohio because he was illegitimate and John decided to marry Helen and take her to his mom's to save her from disgrace. Your mom is listed as his mom on his birth certificate because Helen still wasn't married at the time of his birth. I talked to your mom about that years ago when Michael wanted to know who his real mom was. Helen is his mom. Michael has a daughter, Anick Laplante, who lives in Canada with her mom, whom Michael never married. He is an amazing guitar player and has been in several bands in his life, Supa Nova being the first. (I have a picture of the band somewhere home and a recording of the music on reel.) He is lead guitar and lead singer. He is currently in the Double Zero band. (I have a couple of those CDs somewhere too) He was also a street musician in New Orleans, LA for years when he lived there. He invited me to go with him to Mardi Gras this year where he will be performing in the street. He has diabetes and lost sight in one eye due to neglecting his macular degeneration. He has always been a womanizer and is currently living with a girl he has dated on and off for many years, Jan, in Chico, California.
