Count Mihály Teleki de Szék (Nagyvárad, 1634 - Zărnești, 21 August 1690) was major general of the princes of Transylvania György Rákóczi I and György Rákóczi II, being the latter's confidence man and the last captain of his bodyguard. He then entered the service of princes János Kemény and Mihály I Apafi. being one of the most influential people of the principality.
He participated in the Ferenc Wesselényi's conspiracy and was therefore forced into hiding. In 1672 and in 1678 he was in Hungary. From 1685-1690 he was the de facto administrator of the Habsburgs in Transylvania. In 1685 emperor Leopold I gives him the title of count of the Holy Roman Empire. After Mihály I Apafi's death, he claimed the title of Prince of Transylvania with the support of the Holy Roman Empire.
The ottoman sultan opposed this nomination and sent Imre Thököly to occupy Transylvania. The imperial forces were defeated by Imre Thököly on 21 August 1690 in the Battle of Zărnești where Mihály Teleki de Szék was killed and the Imperial Lieutenant General Heissler von Heitersheim (1629-1696) was taken prisoner by Thököly.
