Miranda Nancy Gibbs Cahoon was born 27 July 1817 in Benson, Rutland County, Vermont, United States to Aaron Gibbs (1794-1829) and Prudence Carter (1796-1841) and died 6 October 1867 Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah, United States of unspecified causes. She married William Farrington Cahoon (1813-1893) 17 January 1836 in Kirtland, Geauga County, Ohio.
Baptized in 1831 Vermont by her uncle, Jared Carter (1801-1849), a noteworthy missionary in the early years of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Cahoon by JS, 17 Jan. 1836, at Kirtland.7 Moved to Far West, Caldwell Co., Missouri, spring 1838; to Adam-ondi-Ahman, Daviess Co., Missouri, fall 1838; to Montrose, Lee Co., Iowa Territory, fall 1839; and to Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois, spring 1842.8 Migrated to Salt Lake Valley, 1849.9 Died at Salt Lake City.10
