Biography
Moses Barnes was born 14 December 1740 in Marlborough, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States to John Barnes (1716-1794) and Elizabeth Cranson (c1719-1749) and died 2 March 1781 Marlborough, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States of unspecified causes. He married Sarah Banister (1739-1826) 4 April 1764 in Marlborough, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States.
He served as sergeant at the Lexington Alarm. In 1776 he was captain of Middlesex militia; served until wounded, 1779, which caused his death in Marlboro, Mass., where he was born.
