Moses Ogden was born 5 February 1762 in Orange, Essex County, New Jersey to Issac Ogden (1722-1776) and Jane Black (1723-1788) and died 17 February 1825 Jefferson, Franklin County, Ohio of unspecified causes. He married Lydia Trowbridge (1759-1793) 1793 in Newark, Essex County, New Jersey.
Moses Ogden a revolutionary war soldier in the Continental army (the army of Gorge Washington). His headstone has been destroyed, along with many others. Moses a boy of only 13 years old when is father Issac Ogden was shot and killed by the English on the morning of April 9 1776 as he was trying to stop them from entering his home. Moses joined the revolutionary army about 1777 and stayed until the war was over. Moses married Lydia Strowbridge about 1791 and she gave birth to 5 children in New Jersey, moving to Ohio around 1804 or 1805 where she gave birth to 6 more children. Her Headstone has also been destroyed.
