Mountain Theophilus was born 3 March 1828 in Taliaferro County, Georgia, United States to Marcus Hill (1802-1851) and Sarah Sheffield (1806-) and died 23 July 1873 Warren County, Georgia, United States of unspecified causes. He married Martha Ann Eubanks (1830-1910) 27 December 1846 in Taliaferro County, Georgia, United States.
Mountain Theophilus Hill, also known as M.T. or Mark, was born in 1828 in Taliaferro County, Georgia. His parents were Marcus Hill and Sarah Sheffield. He married Martha Ann Eubanks Andrews in 1846. At this time he said he was a railroad employee. The couple made their home in Taliaferro Co. In 1853 they moved west to Kingston in Indian territory. Mountain enlisted in May 1861 in the 8th Battalion, Confederate Army of Tennessee, at Bartow Co., Georgia. He and other family members were taken prisoners in 1864. After the war he helped with the reconstruction in the south. On July 23 1873 he was shot and killed after an argument. He was 45 years old when he died.
