Nana Glen is a small village in New South Wales, Australia, located 25 km inland north west of Coffs Harbour in the City of Coffs Harbour. It is at the juncture of several roads including Bucca Road leading to Lower Bucca. The Orara Way (Formerly known as Coramba Road) is the main thoroughfare through the township and is an alternative route between Grafton and Coffs Harbour. It is situated between the townships of Coramba and Glenreagh. At the 2006 census, Nana Glen had a population of 1,046 people.[1]
The well-known film actor Russell Crowe lives at his 320 hectare property in Nana Glen, which as a result has become famous in Australia and abroad.[2]
A railway station on the North Coast railway existed between 1922 and 1974.[3]
The village also has a General Store, Swimming Pool, Sportsground, Pre school, Kafe Kookaburra, Serene Nana Glen Day Spa, Two Tails winery, Nana Glen Organics & Idle Inn Cafe. Great spot for a picnic is Archie Hunter Park which is on the Orara River, benches, shade and plenty of room for children to run round.
The name Nana Glen is derived from the Two-Tailed Lizard. Nana is an aboriginal name meaning 'Two'. The lizard is rare mysterious reptile once sighted in the region. Hence the name Nana Glen.,, ,
