Biography
Nathan Hale was born 6 June 1755 in Coventry, Tolland County, Connecticut, United States to Richard Hale (1717-1802) and Elizabeth Strong (1727-1767) and died 22 September 1776 Manhattan, New York County, New York, United States of execution by hanging.
He was an American Patriot, soldier and spy for the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. He volunteered for an intelligence-gathering mission in New York City but was captured by the British and executed.
