Niculae Vasilescu-Colorado was born 27 February 1910 in Câmpulung, Argeș County, Romania and died 12 October 1952 Constanța, Constanța County, Romania of Execution by firearm.
Niculae Vasilescu was a Romanian engineer. In 1949 he was appointed head of the Technical Direction of the Danube-Black Sea Canal. He was arrested on 30 July 1952, accused of "sabotage of the econimic expansion of the Romanian's People Republic". He was sentenced to death in a show trial held on 29 Aug. - 1 Sep. 1952. His appeal was rejected by the Romanian High Court on 4 Oct, 1952 and the Romanian National Assembly denied his request for clemency. He was executed on 12 Oct. 1952 and his body buried in a common grave.
