Latter-day Saint Leaders[]
- Jeffrey Roy Holland (1940) - an American educator and religious leader. He served as the ninth President of Brigham Young University and is a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). As a member of the Quorum of the Twelve, Holland is accepted by the church as a prophet, seer, and revelator. Currently, he is the fourth most senior apostle in the church.
- Rudger Clawson Atkin (1904-1989) - held several leadership positions in the LDS Church in St. George, Utah including as stake president of the St. George Utah Stake. In 1961 that stake was split and he became president of the newly formed St. George Utah East Stake. He also served as St. George Utah Temple president for nearly eight years.
- Henry William Bigler (1815-1900) - Mormon Battalion Veteran, diarist of the gold discovery at Sutters Mill, and twice missionary to Hawaii.
- Asa Starkweather Calkins (1809-1873) - President of the LDS British Mission (1858-1860). Part of 1861 St. George pioneers.
- Bruce C. Hafen (1940) - President of Rick's College (1978-85) and President of St. George Utah Temple (2010-13), and General Authority Seventy of LDS Church (1996-2010)
- Erastus Fairbanks Snow (1818-1888) - LDS Church Apostle and leader of the St. George Pioneers of 1861-62 - see also History of St. George Stake
- Robert Gardner (1819-1906) - Original St. George Pioneers of 1861-62, immigrant from Scotland and Canada and 1st LDS bishop for St. George, Utah ward.
- John D.T. McAllister - Missionary, Wagon Train Leader, Stake President, Temple President of St. George Utah Temple (1873-1884).
- Daniel Duncan McArthur (1820-1908) - Early LDS Stake President and Pioneer of 1861. Leader of several pioneer trains to Utah.
