The Nurse family were a New England who were descended from The Rev. Edward Nurse (1589-1659) who immigrated from Tewksbury Borough, Gloucestershire, England and settled in Salem, Massachusetts. His son was Frances Nurse (1618-1667) who came over with his father and married to Rebecca Towne (1621-1692) who was accused of witch craft during the Salem Witch Trials.
