Peelwood is the site of a defunct mining town about 17k SE of Tuena, New South Wales. It is about 21k north of Bigga, New South Wales. In Feb 1871 silver and lead deposits were discovered near Peelwood by a Mr. Montague, with a post office and a Wesleyan chapel opening later that year. By 1872 copper was also being mined there.
