Peter Boyton was the youngest son of William Boyton 1809-1874 and his first wife Emma Wombwell.
After William died, Peter and brother Jabez remained in Nangus to farm with land along the river and some in the hills north of the village.
One historical reference of the Riverina mentions Peter's landholding being 9000 acres in the 1890's.
Peter and wife Mary Ann Green are buried in the Illabo Cemetery.
